The Wastewater Treatment Research Unit and the Hydrogen Research Unit make up the Sustainable Environment Research Centre (SERC) in the University of Glamorgan, Wales. The aims are:

  • To produce high quality scientific research in the field of the sustainable environment, particularly acting as an umbrella body for the Wastewater Treatment Research Unit and the Hydrogen Research Unit
  • To advance knowledge and provide trained scientists and engineers to meet the needs of industry
  • To enhance the standing of the University of Glamorgan both nationally and internationally

Descriptions of many of our current projects including lab-based, pilot-scale and full-scale, are to be found on the 'Research Projects' page and these show the wide range of multidisciplinary research undertaken by SERC.
